Help. I recently upgraded to Service Pack 2. Everything
seemed to work OK for a while then 2 days ago my system
would stop at the welcome screen asking for a password for
the user Jerry. Jerry has alwyas been the only user and
is the administrator. Until now the system would autolog
on and I have no idea why this changed. I was able to get
around this by hitting Ctl+Alt+Del twice and get the
classic password screen. From there I would hit enter and
the system logged on. I found Usoft article 315231 to
turn on auto logon and typed the "control userpasswords2"
command from run. Now the system goes past the welcome
screen to "windows starting up" and hangs there forever.
I cannot get on the system to do anything. Can anyone
help me fix this or at least somehow get logged on to
windows where I might be able to reset the logon registry
bit. Thanks in advance for any help.
Jerry
