USB Devices Don't Work after SP2 Install

After downloading Windows XP SP2, all connected USB 1.0
devices worked normally. However, connecting new USB 1.0
devices do not; specifically, another USB hub, compact
flash card reader, and GPS (map downloading from HD).
All "new" USB devices worked normally before XP SP2
download with devices recognized and automatically
installed, but no more. These problem devices have been
uninstalled/reinstalled, where appropriate, and both
Device and Hardware wizards have been run with no fix.
The manufacturers of each device have been contacted but
their techies were similarly unsuccessful. Has anybody
in this discussion group encountered the same problem?
Thanks...
