Service Pack 2 and Norton Live Update

I installed Windows XP Service Pack 2 on my two PC's last
week. It works fine on my HP Pavilion. However, I have
not been able to run Norton LiveUpdate on my Dell
Dimension 4500 since installing the Service Pack 2. The
two PC's have the exact same software on them except the
HP has Windows XP Home edition and the Dell has Windows
XP Professional. Since installing the Service Pack 2,
Symantec's Norton LiveUpdate is prevented from installing
new versions of Norton System Works , which includes
Norton Antivirus 2004. The virus definitions are
installed fine but the actual software revisons are
prevented from being installed. The error message on the
LiveUpdate is "LU1812: An update failed to install. A
program tyhat is part of this update failed when it ran.
This update was not applied." The dtails of the error
says: "Windows XP Service Pack 2 NAVNT 10.00.13" The
latter is a compressed file that seems to be the one that
does not run. I have done all of the things that
Symantec recommends to correct the problem, including
uninstalling and re-installing all of the Symantec
products on the PC. The only problem that seems to
remain is to configure the Windows Firewall within the
Service Pack 2, which I have as yet been unable to do. I
have tried adding "Exceptions" to the Firewall but I have
not found the correct ones apparently. Has anyone had a
similar problem? Does anyone have any suggestions to
correct this problem in the new Windows Firewall in order
to allow Norton LiveUpdate to install updated software
versions of Norton Utilities? Thanks!
