Update

I'm told by Windows Update to download and install the
new Service Pack 2. I've tried once to do this (it takes
over 4 hours!) but on returning to the computer there was
a box saying the installation (or was it the
downloading?) had failed. I'd previously read in the
press warnings that this update can cause considerable
problems. Two questions please...1) Is it now safe to
download and install Service Pack 2?...2) Why did my
first attempt fail? Finally, should I take any
precautions with the present system before attempting to
install? Any advice welcome please.
