I have set up this firewall many times wihtin XP Pro,
right-clicking on the netwrok connection, going to
properties and enabling the firewall security used with
XP. However, on a recent occasion I was surprised to find
that it would not allow me to right click on the MSN
connection (only local LAN), it would not allow me to
enable the firewall and even recently found out that the
Windows Automatic Update configuration was also greyed
out (unavailable). This is on a new installation of XP
pro. I ahve installed it before, and the only thing I can
see that happend recently is that I was hit by a virus
(unsure which one) and has been (supposedly) sucessfully
deleted by McAfee.

Anyone have any idea how I can reconfigure this without a
full reinstall? Windows XP repair doesn't fix it...

Using latest version of all service packs and updated
McAfee virus protection.
