I want to undo 'identities' change, Outlook Xpress-6

On XP, using Outlook Express-6, and in an attempt to set
up a password for my e-mail files and restrict access to
my e-mail by the 3 other family member users, I
changed "identities" and apparently successfully.
However, in the process, I've lost access to my previous,
recent messages, and dozens of 'saved' messages (some
requiring follow-up and storage for later uses).
How do I undo what I did in creating this identity and go
back to where I started? I've searched through all sorts
of HELP menus and nothing seems to address this quirky
problem.
