You can use the following steps to enable automatic logon:

1. Click Start, and then click Run.
2. In the Open box, type: control userpasswords2 , and then click OK.
3. In the dialog box that appears, clear the "Users must enter a user name
and password to use this computer" check box, and then click OK.

|I am running XP Home SP 1 with all the latest updates from
| the windows update site. When starting windows, I must
| click on my user account icon at the welcome screen. I am
| unable to disable the requirement for Ctrl+Alt+Del for
| secure login in the User Accounts. I have the control
| panel in classic view but when I click on user accounts,
| it comes up in category view. Also, under admin tools,
| there is no icon for local secuirty policy. What can I do
| so that I don't have to click on the user icon at the
| welcome screen? Thank you.
