Note that once you have taken ownership and allowed
new permissions to be set, the storage area will no
longer be suited for use as the profile of the original
account. To make it suited again you would need to
issue while logged in at the original system
cacls "<path>" /t /e /g <account>:F
where <path> is the full path to the root of the storage area
and <account> is the account for which this is the profile

Right now my laptop isn't working, and I moved the drive over to my desktop
which is running XP Pro, but I can't access the files in that directory. I
have spent almost 2 weeks messing around with user, group, and security
settings, with NO luck. It doesn't matter if I log in as a user or as the
administrator, it always tells me f:\documents and settings\%myusername% is
not accessible. Access is denied. What do I have to do to gain access to
this directory? (My account name and password are the same for both
computers, and I have administrator privelages on both computers.)
