The Automatic Updates (AU) client has a random time between 17-22 (+/-
7hrs) that is does a scan of Windows Update (WU) to check for new patches.
Its possible your machine just has not done the automatic scan yet. While
you can specify an install time you can not specify the scan time and it
will randomly fall between the numbers I quoted above. Once it does detect
new patches then Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) will
download the patches from WU and the AU client will notify you when they
are ready to install. So there can be some delay here. It does not happen
immediatly when we release the patch publicly.
