**Then when you assign the permissions, you go to Task Manager, Users and log the user out. That way it doesn't matter.**

I guess I wasn't clear. Many workers are not deskbound. I have computers in semi-public areas that may be used on a daily basis by as many as 60 distinct users. The Microsoft model of giving users admin rights, or expecting a computer to be logged in and out every 5-6 minutes is completely useless. Within a week, users will be sharing passwords and walking away from the computer without logging out on a regular basis.

As for software vendors updating, I could buy that argument if we were discussing backyard and basement programmers, but I am referring to current product offerings from companies such as IBM and **gasp** Microsoft! Saying that the problem isn't Microsofts is very convenient. I suppose I could say the same thing about being late to work every day, seeing as how my watch is set to a different time zone than the one the rest of my co-workers use. I'm quite sure they will accept such an explanation.

Network resources should never, ever be accessible using cached user information. Never. It's a security risk big enough to park a Mac truck in.
