Installed program that deleted activation code

Recently I have installed a program on my microsoft XP
home edition called Spybot-S&D. And some how the program
has managed to delete the activation code therefore not
allowing me to log on to my windows account. Is there any
way of me recovering my exisitng partition or will I have
to format my hardrive?
