Did you try setting these with the Windows supplied
tools (in Component Services) ?
I do not know where the app supplied interface is writing
its info into the registry, so it is very possible that it is
getting wiped out, or just going the wrong place for XP
to find it, whereas the app did see the info during the boot
when it was set and so uses it.
