Downloading Windows XP patches

Hi,

When trying to obtain Windows XP patches (or driver
patches) via the Windows Update site after scanning for
updates, rather than it giving me a selection of
available updates it just spawns another request to scan
for updates !

Has anyone experienced similar problems ?
