I bet you haven't tried replacing the hard drive yet. That may be the only
way but you can try the recovery console - just boot from the XP CD and
select appropriate options (http://www.wown.com/j_helmig/wxprcons.htm).
Once you get the recovery console prompt, run CHKDSK .
