Greetings:
I recently received my PC back from the shop only to get caught up in a nasty, new hardware found and the more I tried to install the correct sound card [Creative Audigy] drivers the deeper in trouble I got. It is so bad now that I can't boot-up Windows. So I pulled the hard drive, installed another with a fresh format and Windows install. I then slaved the original hard drive as to recover my files. That is where the nightmare begins. I cannot access the files. When I try to copy the files from the slaved drive to the new hard drive I get the Access Denied, writeprotected or file in use error message. On the new C: drive I have creted the same user & admin accounts and still cannot access my documents on the slaved drive. I have booted up in Safe mode and tried to reset the permissions of 'My Documents'on the slaved drive, but still no luck trying to copy to the new C: drive. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
