Hi Lincoln,
Two things you want to change are the initial logon and the way your
computer resumes from standby/hibernation.
NO LOGON PROMPT:
Here you eant to enable AutoAdminLogon - so you no longer see the logon.
Here are the steps:
1. Click Start, and then click Run.
2. In the Open box, type "control userpasswords2" (without the
quotation marks), and then click OK.
3. In the dialog box that appears, clear the "Users must enter a user
name and password to use this computer" check box, and then click OK.

RESUME FROM STANDBY/HIBERNATION:
1. Open Control Panel - Power Options.
2. On the Advanced Tab, clear the box that says:
'Prompt for password when computer resumes from standby'
3. If there is a similar setting on the hibernate tab, set that as well.
4. If you want, you can modify the screen saver to also prompt or not
prompt for passwords.

| I am using XP Prof. on a stand alone lap top which is
| never networked. I would like to eliminate the window
| that pops up when I start my computer (even from
| hibernating or standby) asking for a password, I have not
| assigned a password and just klick "OK", my settings are
| then loaded. Can I eliminate this annoying window.
| I have two user accounts, both "Administrator". The
| reason for this is I normally use "Media Player 9" but
| have media applications requiring "Real One Player" if
| they are both installed on one user account "Real One
| Player" hijacks "Media Player 9" and chaos ensues. This
| does not happen if "Real One Player" is installed on a
| seperate user account.
| Many thanks
| Lincoln
