Hi Oscar,

The 826939 update you referenced is a rollup of more than 20 seperate
critical updates.

826939 Update Rollup 1 for Windows XP Is Available
  http://support.microsoft.com/?id=826939

Recommendations:

1. Since 826939 is currently not installed, make a list of
the updates in the rollup <see list in the article above>.

2. Install these seperatey or in small sets.

3. Reboot and test for the symptom between each seperate update or small set

4. If the symptom appears, stop and note which updates were installed in
the previous session.

5. This will be the update causing the problem.

Pay close attention to the following update, which has generated a symptom
like this in the past (but which was corrected):

819634 You May Experience Performance Issues After You Install the 811493

| I have Windows Xp Home. It works smoothly. I have
| installed Service Pack 1 and other updates succesfully.
| The problem is that, recently, after installing an
| update, the computer becames very slow and freezes after
| working for a couple of minutes. The last update that I
| tried to install was KB826939.
| After restoring the computer (unistalling the last
| patch), the system works great.
| Any suggestions?
