         Yes, each WinXP workstation, like WinNT and Win2K before it, must
     have a unique SID. This SID is created automatically as the
     workstation is added to the domain, and not third party "SID
     generator" is required, no more that one was required for WinNT or
     Win2K.
     
         The only time you _might_ need to change a machine's SID is if you
     used Ghost or some other drive imaging application to clone machines.
     And, in this case, most disk cloning software comes with its own "SID
     changer."
