Winlogon.exe error message

I am running Windows XP home edition on a Dell 733 Mhz computer with a
Pentium 3 processor. About three days ago I started noticing
something odd. My "D" drive would start making noises like it was
being read from or written to, and then I would get this message that
states "Winlogon.exe There is no disk in the drive" or something to
that effect. My D drive is just a secondary drive I use to store
files. This only happens after having booted up the computer and
opening Internet Explorer for the first time after boot up. When I
click OK to get rid of the error message box, the computer seems to
run fine after that. Has anyone else seen this and what did you do to
fix it? Appreciate any input.

p.s. My D drive can be accessed from Windows Explorer, so why this
message says there is no disk in the drive baffles me.
