Win XP processor usage

I have difficulties with Win XP Home edition.
I got my CPU usage always on 100%. I opened the windows
task manager and I saw that the program call svchost.exe
using it all the time more then 50%. I also notice that I
have 3 copies of the same file. One is with the User Name
Network service, second and third is with User Name
System. Also they have different size. Actually the
smaller one by the size is using the CPU mostly.

What can I do to lower the CPU usage and make my machine
works faster and properly?

I also saw that I have few spyware register at my
registry, but when I tried to operate registry.exe it has
the defense system to close on a timer.
Can I operate it without interruption?
