A couple of causes of this problem were corrected in one of the Windows 2000
Service Packs (SP4 I think.) The causes are described in the following
articles:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=328773
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;826895
I couldn't find any info about this on XP - but make sure you have SP1 for
XP.
