Can anyone help on the following problem please ?

When I click on Start / Windows update, the web page appears for about a
second and then disappears leaving the normal desktop. The same thing
happens if I type "windows update" into google and then click on the link.

I have checked the date and time settings, all ok.

Also I have searched the registry for any keys such like
"NoUpdate or "NoWindowsUpdate" but couldn't see anything to cause the update
to fail.

Havn't been able to get any updates for 6 months, and starting to get
worried.

XP Home

Thank you for your help.

Peter
