embedded user profiles - ?

I recently upgraded from ME to XP using an upgrade disc.
All went well until I set up the user profiles in XP. I
first set up 4 users for each of the individuals in the
household then decided to change/delete some of the user
accounts so that the 2 children were combined in one
account. Now my welcome screen has the correctly updated
user profiles but in the document and settings folder
there were only 2 of the original 4 user folders set up.
I manually created the missing user folders but the
system won't allow me to delete or change the names of
the folders created originally. This would not be a
problem for me except for the fact that the 2 original
folders created were in the children's names and whenever
I log in using my account...all the internet cookies and
site path information register with one of the children's
folders. Is there a way to change these user profile
folders in a more comprehensive manner rather than
redoing the upgrade?
