shutdown in 60 seconds error message

at random times when im on my computer, if im active or
inactive in a program, an error message comes up saying
my computer will shut down in 60 seconds, due to a remote
procedure call error (whatever that means...) it has a
timer and at the end of the timer it restarts my
computer. it has happened about 20 or 30 times now its
pretty annoying i just bought my comouter i have windows
xp can someone pleeeassse help me on this?
