In this case, it is the firewall that is the key. Antivirus can do
nothing to help in this case, because it is the probing through the
code defect that causes the PC to crash and burn - this happens
without any infection entering the systerm, so av has nil to do.

You need to fix the defect - but you need to keep that firewall on,
too. Not only to keep you alive long enough to get the fix, but as a
barrier to tomorrow's attacks that today's system will be open to.
