A regular user can still install some software [that does not write to the
system folder, etc] and unfortunately some programs are being designed for such.
I am not familiar with Home, but you may want to boot into safe mode and change
ntfs permissions so the regular users have only read/list/execute on the
root/drive folder checking advanced permissions also. That will still not stop
all installations but may inhibit it as users by default can write to their
profile folders. XP Pro has the capability to prevent regular users from
installing almost any software via Software Restriction Policies. --- Steve
