The why:
Web sites like Hotmail use cookies to remember that you are logged on to
their web site. Without this you would have to authenticate on every page.
This is because the protocol used to get website (HTTP) is stateless. In
other words, it remembers nothing of past request.
The how (for Internet Explorer 6):
In internet explorer, click on the "Tools" menu and select "Internet
Options". Once there, select the "Privacy" tab. When you get there, you can
what actions your computer will take when a web site tries to give you
cookies. For Hotmail, pretty much anything except "Block All Cookies" and
"High", the top two selections, will work.
