Hi Shirley,

Please try downloading the patch for KB824146 instead. This includes the patch for the Blaster worm and does not have the same update.inf trouble that KB823980 had. If this fails as well, run the following commands at your Run prompt in Windows:

regsvr32 softpub.dll
regsvr32 wintrust.dll
regsvr32 initpki.dll
regsvr32 dssenh.dll
regsvr32 rsaenh.dll
regsvr32 gpkcsp.dll
regsvr32 sccbase.dll
regsvr32 slbcsp.dll
regsvr32 cryptdlg.dll

Restart the computer and then try again. Hope this helps.
