America Online installs its own connection settings that override
the ones that come with Windows XP. America Online's
connection settings don't include a way to turn on Windows XP's
built-in firewall.

Visit the following web site for instructions on downloading
a FREE firewall program for your computer.

| I have tried to enable the XP internet connection
| firewall using the help guide but have been
| unsuccessful. My ISP is AOL 8.0. I have opened the Control
| Panel, then network and internet connections, then
| network connections. The help guide then says that I
| should chose the connection that I want to be firewall
| protected, but in my network connections there is nothing
| to open,i.e. No AOL icon.I have found the AOL start up
| program in "C:\Program Files\AOL 8.0\aol.exe" but right
| clicking then properties does not give me the Enable
| Internet Connection Firewall option. Have I missed
| something really obvious?
|
| Any help greatfully received
