Help Windows - Registry Recovery

This is the second time I have received this
error: "Application popup: Windows - Registry Recovery :
One of the files containing the system's Registry data had
to be recovered by use of a log or alternate copy. The
recovery was successful."
How do I diagnose this problem and fix it.
I think this is causing my USB BusLink CD-RW not to work.
