I have been using ZA, the cheapy version (Free) for quite a while without problems. The
problems I did have, which for $64,000 I could not remember, had to do with not reading the
instructions. I was not pointing you to how to uninstall but to the FAQ's. XP's Firewall is not
very good. For one thing it has no outbound capibility. ZA is better, if it's working, that is.
:o) Delete the download of ZA that you already have, maybe it's corrupted. Redownload and try to
install it again.
When you install it, make sure you are offline and have everything turned off that you can,
especially Anti Virus software. Ctrl + Alt + Del /Applications tab & Processes tab.

This is about what I have running when installing something, plus what install program.
System Idle Process 0 N/A
System 4 N/A
SMSS.EXE 340 N/A
CSRSS.EXE 428 N/A
WINLOGON.EXE 460 N/A

SVCHOST.EXE 936 RpcSs
SVCHOST.EXE 1016 AudioSrv, CryptSvc, Dhcp, Netman, Schedule, winmgmt
