I have a Dell Presario notebook running WinXP Home Edition. I've had it for
about 14 months. I am the ONLY user of this pc and there is no network
that I have to logon to.
Up until about a week ago when I booted up, it would immediately go into
windows (no logon dialog). Also when I clicked Start>ShutDown, a window
would come up that had three icons and two buttons (OK and Cancel)--there
was no drop-down list.
Then about a week ago, I booted up and I noticed that the logon screen was
now coming up. Then when I shut down that night, I had a dialog box with a
drop-down list instead of the icons that I'm used to.
How do I put things back the way they were?
It's been about 3 months since I last installed any new programs or made any
changes to the system. The only thing I can think of the MS Auto Updates.
TIA
