See my web site, www.dougknox.com and go to Win XP Tips
For Win9x/Me: Install 98/Me after XP is Installed.
For Windows 2000: Install Windows 2000 after XP is installed.
For the Recovery Console issue, log into XP using any account with
Administrator level access. See www.dougknox.com, Win XP Fixes, Enable
Administrator Account on the Welcome Screen. Run this utility. Now, go to
Control Panel, User Accounts, and you'll see the Administrator account
listed. You can now change/assign a password for the built in Administrator
account.
Note: Heed the warning, in User Accounts about stored passwords for the
built in Administrator account. If there are any other stored passwords
(web sites and etc.) they will be gone.
