Yes - most good UPS software does come with this "feature" - however, in the
case that there is only one UPS hooked to one of the machines (and if there
is none hooked to the networking equipment) - it is worthless when the power
goes off. Now if you have your Network Hub/Switch on a UPS, each of your
other machines on a UPS and you are using a protocol that would keep you
from losing contact with your other machines when the power goes off - you
should be fine with using this application. But if you have a normal (home)
setup where the Network Hub/Switch (if you have one) is not battery
back-up'ed and/or you get your IP from the cable/dsl modem through DHCP -
there is a DISTINCT possibility you will have NO way of issuing these
commands. It is a great idea, but only if you think it through. =)
