toggle show hidden

Is there a registry modification that I could use to
toggle hidden files in and out of view? I need to keep a
list of files hidden and be able to dip into that list
(make visible) quickly inorder to change some properites
to visible and change others to hidden.

Changing the properites of individual file or groups of
files is quick enough but I would like a way to toggle the
hidden files in and out of view without going through the
Tools menu and the Folder Options tabs of Explorer.

I imagine a reg shortcut for view and one for hidden
sitting on my desktop. How can I do this?
