Yes, what you're missing is "packet writing" software. Except for the
ability to re-format CD-RW media, XP treats CD-RW discs just like CD-R
discs. Everything is written at once, and then the disc is "closed" or
finalized. You need InCD (part of Nero), Direct CD (part of Easy CD) or a
similar product that allows for "packet" writing. This is what allows the
system to treat RW media just like another disk.
