Cannot Access Event Viewer: Application or System!?!?!?

I have been trying to look at my Event Viewer:
Application and Security logs, however, it keeps giving
me the error: Uable to complete the operation
on "Application" Access Denied

Same for System.

Eventhough I have administrative rights! Could there be
another reason why? Perhaps some permissions changed
where it should not have?
