Have you considered that perhaps this is Windows Messenger, telling you that
there's a newer version of it that you need to install?
Many systems automatically run Windows Messenger, and there are options in
several Microsoft programs to interface with Windows Messenger and use it
while you're online - Outlook, Outlook Express, Internet Explorer, etc.
Go to the Windows Messenger site,
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/messenger, and install the newest version.
IIRC, Microsoft recently expired an older version of Windows Messenger, and
forbade it from communicating with the central Messenger servers. Can't
find reference to it for the moment, but I would definitely advise upgrading
Windows Messenger. Just in case it's a virus, of course, you should use the
URL I typed above, rather than just clicking "Yes".
