Hi!
There are many tools such as spybot , Xcleaner(spywareinfo.com) and others
to detect or clean adwares or spywares. It seems to be a virus that may've
infected your system.
READ FIRST: Make sure to have the latest antivirus update (even if you are
already have that you cannot make sure that you're COMPLETELY protected ;-)
think PEACE OR FREEDOM thing....)
THIS MAY HELP YOU OR MAY NOT but i,
Check your running tasks by going to : (running xp or 2000...?!! )
Task Manager (hit Ctrl+Alt+Del) -go to "processes" and check for an image
name : "tcpsvcs.exe", try to end task this process and try to change your
home page in IE,
if you made that then you MAY have a virus called "StartPage-Q or a similar
Trojan..."
the virus(Trojan) has infected your registry and some of your files in your
windows directory (BOOTCONF.exe MSINFO.exe or tcpsvcs.exe or..)
NOTE:
Please try to clean this virus using an Anti virus such as McAfee(r) or
Norton(r) rather than Spyware cleaners.
