moving documents and settings

Short question: Does KB article 236621 apply to XP as
well as to Win 2000 (other than the specifics of backing
up and changing the registry)

Longer form: I want to free up space on a partitioned
hard disk by moving data away from the disk with program
files.

I therefore want to move all documents and settings from
the c: drive to the d: drive.

How do I do this? Is there a really really simple way, or
even a utility?
