Accessing Locked Folder

I am trying to access a folder on a secondary hard drive
but it says "access is denied". This folder is on my
original hard drive which no longer boots the windows xp
operating system on it. How can I access this folder, or
copy it to my new hard drive? Both hard drives are on the
same computer (master and slave) at this time.
