XP Boot Disks - corrupted DMIO.SYS

Hi,

I have a copy of WindowsXP on an eMachines box that gives
me a blue screen stating UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME. It
suggests that drivers have been changed which make it
unable to start up. It also states that I should disable
any new hardware or software I have installed.

I called eMachines and was told I was out of warranty and
could do 2 things.

1) Re-install from the recovery CDs (I don't want to lose
my data!)

2) go to the following web site and download the program
(WinXP_EN_HOM_BF) that will allow me to build 6 Windows XP
Boot Disks. These when loaded are supposed to give me a
chance of recovery.

I tried to execute option 2. I spent two days with bad
dial up connections downloading the program 4 times and
creating the disks four times only to be told each time
worked until the 4th disk. I received an error message
that stated the DMIO.SYS was corrupted.

Help! Does anyone know either where I can get a corrected
version of DMIO.SYS or a good version of the boot up disk
program?
