First disconnect from the internet. Then click Start, Run and enter
SERVICES.MSC Locate the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service, not the RPC
Locator service. Double click it and go to the Recovery tab. Change the
Recovery options to Restart the Service, instead of restart the computer.
Then go to:

www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_qr.htm#rpc for a small utility that will remove
all known variants of the Blaster worm and prompt you to install the
Microsoft patch for this issue.

Then go back to SERVICES.MSC and reset the Remote Procedure Call service's
recovery options to Restart the computer.
