No, really, don't do that - at least, not for that reason. It's not a good
reason to kill the Messenger Service. It's a good reason to install a
firewall. Instructions for that can be found at
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/using/howto/communicate/stopspam.asp
Leave the Messenger Service running - that way, you can tell if the firewall
ever breaks.
