MSN Messenger POPUPS

My XP was pre-installed with the MSN Instant Messenger
included...no extra charge! Like Heck!

Every few minutes a pop up appears right in the middle of
my screen showing it's source Windows Messenger...I've
deleted the MSN Messenger from the system and they still
keep coming.

Does anyone know how to fix this incredible flaw in this
XP version that permits these pop ups? I'm miserable!
