have "On resume, display welcome screen" checked.
Open your Display Properties window (right click anywhere
on your Desktop and select properties). Select the
Screen Saver tab and within the Screen saver section you
should see a check box with "On resume, display welcome
screen" after it. Uncheck this box and you will no
longer get the welcome screen when you computer goes idle.
Follow these instructions to disable the welcome screen
when you first boot up.
Type "control userpasswords2" in the Run command. A User
Accounts window will open. Above a list of Users for
this computer: you will see, "Users must enter a user
name and password to use this computer." Uncheck this
box and restart your computer.
