Worm patch won't work

I found that if I turn on my XP firewall it will block
the worm from re-entering lthen I close the msblast.exe
in my controll panel processes (Ctrl, Alt, Del)and
download the update from microsoft, then I load the
fixblast.exe and all works well. you might want to turn
off your system restore for this process.
