PC2 will connect yo PC1 using the "Guest" account.

This is due to simple file sharing in XP Home and cannot be disabled.

On PC1 give the "Guest" account access to the shared folder and he will be
able to get to it.

You might want to add a password to the guest account for added security.

| What gives here?
|
| I shared a folder (Bill's Folder) on a P2P network on one
| XPPro machine [PC1]; set up a user (Joe/pw:YoJoe), and
| gave Joe full control over that folder.
|
| I set up Joe as a user on another XP(Home) machine [PC2]
| on the P2P network, with the same password.
|
| However! When I try to access \\PC1\Bill's Folder from
| PC2, I get a (drive) is not accessible error, Access is
| denied message. When I try to map it, I get an extended
| version of the same message, that Joe does not have
| permission to use this network resource.
|
| The strangest thing is, the resource worked fine on
| Friday, and again yesterday in the early afternoon. Any
| clues what happened?
|
| Help, please. Rob
