This is privacy???

There are three users on my computer: JJS (administrator)
(me), JTS, and BMC. In my profile (JJS), under My
Computer, there is a section for "Files Stored On This
Computer", under which are several folders which appear to
be the My Documents folders for all of the users, plus
a "Shared" folder. In JTS's profile, he is able to see
BMC's folder, and vice-versa. (Neither can see mine,
however, thank goodness).

What is the purpose of this? How is it turned off? Is
this a default behavior and can THAT be turned off (for
future profiles)? The self-congratulatory help file says
that Win XP Home provides security and privacy for
multiple users, so that user X can no longer get at user
Y's desktop, or what have you. That does not seem to be
the case. Why would I want my users to be able to see each
other's files in this way?

Please advise.
