Re: can't update windows

Mike and Peanut,

I think he is refering to the problem I have had, that
because no-one could give me a solution, resulted in me
formating my hard drive and re-installing WinXP Pro.
After re-installation, I found that windows update does
not function. I can access the web
site, it scans my pc, provides a list of updates to
install, starts to download then stops and tells me the
installation was unsuccessful.

After MANY calls, I am told by Microsoft Tech Support that
the update site is down. There is no notification on this
at the web site. Has anyone else gotten this same story?
Please let me know..
